Elizabeth is our head artisan who trains the artisans in jewelry-making and crochet.
She is from Churachandpur, Manipur and worked as a Primary School teacher for four years before moving to Delhi. From her childhood, she developed her creative and artistic skills by making bracelets, drawing, and doodling. She enjoys making crochet, woven, and knitted products—which she does beautifully. She loves nature and dreams of living in the countryside with a vegetable and flower garden of her own some day.
Ruma is an apprentice artisan and has a heart for seeing the women thrive and loves being the newest member of the team. She is generous, a fabulous cook, kind, and loves to learn how to make new products and acquire new skills.
She formerly worked as a domestic helper and was quite eager to move into this job and learn new skills while she also works on improving her English. Last year, she and her husband were able to move into a one-bedroom apartment, which was a dream come true for them. When she's not working she's spending time with her son or helping her husband with his tailoring business.
